For someone who wants to get into mahjong, the in-game aid to help with making sure you know what to keep and discard as well as the multiple time options is very good for new players. I'm a bit annoyed that so many customizable options are bogged with the difficulty to get in-game currency and the high in store prices, but since most are cosmetic and don't affect the gameplay, it's a great game.

Had this app installed on my old phone. Worked great. Upgraded to a pixel 8 pro, tried to launch the app, got an infinite loading screen. Had the idea to uninstall then reinstall. Bad idea. Even while connected to my fiber optic internet, it refuses to successfully download or install. The app store will claim it reaches 100 percent download, but the shortcut always shows it at a 75 percent. Pretty upset.

Great riichi mahjong game. Definitely go through both sets of tutorials, and the guard rails in place make sure you can learn the game effectively without too much confusion. After learning the basic rules the most important think is to learn all the different yaku (hands) that you can play. Start out playing friendly matches against ai with plenty of turn time. My only criticism is that you cannot access the yaku list in friendly matches as far as I can tell. Edit: WRONG! Gear>others>view yaku.
