A _lot_ of work has been done on the app recently and it has dramatically improved. Videos actually play correctly now without interfering with other audio sources, the status bar isn't hidden constantly anymore, it doesn't drain the battery after it's closed so far as I've noticed, etc. One problem that has actually reappeared, however, is that the share button on articles is now including the title in the text shared instead of just sharing the link. Very annoying.

Can't fit everything but: Their cancellation is scummy. You can't cancel through the app, it brings you to the website, which looks different than the app and harder to find how to manage the subscription. At first, you can only see how to upgrade, in small texts, you see, "cancel". Once you click this, it's you're typical scumbag, "but wait, we have so much more to offer!" When you click past that it offers a discount, with no obvious way to decline it other than clicking an X you can't say no.

I stopped paying for DW after I let my annual subscription time out in May. Glad I did because it doesn't appear they've fixed the issues that were primary reasons for unsubscribing. The DW app is terrible, guaranteed it's crashing or not loading properly on at least one occasion every time you open the app. It's really bad; you'd think after growing the business they would invest in the technical infrastructure of the company but they haven't. So I read articles that half load for free now!
