ConfusingDifficultLove itThe Washington Post app has gotten much less user friendly lately. The new comments format is a complete disaster with the removal of the like button, addition of confusing "provocative", "thoughtful", etc buttons, no way to get back to the article when reading your comments and replies. it is also difficult to navigate to a particular section of the paper like Advice to read articles.

AdsAudioHate itSpendingI have enjoyed Wapo subscription for 4 years now and pretty much been happy with the app and much more with the reporting. In first week of Sep 2023, few articles started with ads in listening mode, so I was quite annoyed. Fortunately that went away in a couple weeks. It's now May 2025, the ads are back. I possibly can put up with them if they are read by the same AI voice. As I use ear pods, ads like Odoo contain sounds like phone ringing or excited voices become extremely annoying.

AdsHate itApp opens with Top Stories (I can't say I don't want this). Half(!!!) of the screen is used for those four little "cards" that are useless.Today three (yes three) of them link to games that I can easily find via the games menu at the bottom of the screen. The most annoying, though, is when I get "continue reading" hints. I am well aware of what I've been reading and don't always want to read a whole article that has already repeated itself ad infinitum. I'm about done w/ WaPo altogether.
