Translate and learn millions of words and expressions and express yourself as if you were a native speaker.
Reverso is the best tool for those who seek quality translation, looking to master a foreign language: reading, writing or speaking, and it’s free.
Students, teachers, business professionals or others, whether beginners or advanced, use Reverso to learn new words or expressions, and eliminate the risk of being mistaken.
It provides you instant translations of the selected text when reading content on your browser, on Safari or any other app.
Reverso Context is based on data gathered from millions of real-life texts (official documents, movie subtitles, product descriptions) in both languages. These texts are processed with powerful “big data” algorithms and machine learning to provide you the best results.
What do we mean by context? The search results (translation) of a specific word or expression are weaved within real-life sentences, so you will be sure to understand and learn exactly how the word can be used, and make no embarrassing mistakes.
Just type or say the word or expression you wish to translate and the results will appear instantly: relevant translations, presented with examples of how words are used in sentences.
The app offers flashcards and quizzes based on your search history and favorites to help you memorize them and to improve your language skills. Unlike standard learning tools, it focuses on words and expressions that you really need and want to learn.

Version 12.3
AudioBugsDifficultLove itSo the problem with many translators (especially google translate) is the fact that they typically will give you the “correct” translation but since language evolves and CONTEXT matters, this app tops any translation app by showing you hundreds of ways a word can be used. Honestly I could go on forever however I do have one piece of advice for the app developers regarding the voice play back feature. Regarding pronunciation I believe it would be especially helpful to include the phonetic IPA spelling for vocabulary as such found in common dictionaries. This would help those familiar with the IPA language understand how to correctly pronounce the words in the text. Since sometimes it’s a bit difficult to replicate the pronunciation of the voice playback to someone trying to properly pronounce a new word. Other than that the app is amazing. Thanks for your work.

AdsLove itWhile this app is extremely useful in many areas, it still needs some improvements. For instance when learning any of the East Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese, or Korean) either through a quiz or from any of the provided examples, you can’t tap on any of the words and check their romanizations (which would assist in knowing how to pronounce those words). Even though this is implemented in the translation part of the app (where the romanization of the entire translation is provided just below the translation itself), it would be helpful to have this implemented everywhere. Not only that, but also be able to tap on individual words (to show a pop up or something) in the translations or the provided examples so you can see more about that word (such as its definitions, or its own romanization for any of the East Asian languages) so you can better understand which words have which meanings in the provided sentence.

DifficultInaccurateLove itSpendingOverall, I love this app. I love how many options it gives for examples of the way the translated word or phrase could be used. I use it to translate back and forth from English to French. I use it enough that I have the subscription. The only thing that would make this app better is if I could choose between formal and informal. French has different ways of speaking to someone based on who they are to you (as do many languages) but Reverso always gives me the formal translation which I rarely use. I usually then have to work a bit harder to find the correct phrasing so I don’t make who I’m speaking to uncomfortable by addressing them incorrectly. Other than that, amazing!
