The news and functionality are good. But the ads are too frequent, appearing on every article on top of the pages. The "x" function reduces the size of the ad but they still obscure some of the reading area. UPDATE: I am uninstalling this app and just bookmarking the website. I still get push notifications although I turned off all push notifications. it's quite frustrating. I like APNews but the app is not good, in my opinion.

Regarding just the app: it NEEDS custom notification settings. If I'm being inundated with notifications and can't choose what I want to see, I'm disinclined to read any of it. I want to choose what I care about the most. Instead, I had to turn off ALL notifications. News is important, but only when you can actually read it.

I have amended my rating downward due to difficulties I've had with the app. The AP has always had especially terrible clickbait ads, but they are so aggressive now they seem to be making the app unstable. Getting through an article is a challenge now due to the app's tendency to freeze or crash when a banner ad is trying to scream at me to buy something.
