App spends an inordinate amount of screen space and interface promoting other people's artwork and profiles. Latest drawings, hot artists, staff picks, popular today... where is the actual drawing and lessons this thing claims to have? It's more like a gallery and marketplace for already completed artwork from people who know what they're doing. Recommended to me as a good starting point for beginners, but I just don't see it.

As an intermediate artist, I find that the drawing function this app provides itself is satisfying, though it does need some improvements. >_> The brushes are great, I mean, you can't get me wrong - But I really wish we had some minor enchantments. For instance, a bigger variety of filters, hue and color saturation settings, and all of that. The social features, on the other hand, are straight-up awesome. :) you CAN find many like-minded friends across the app, and form connections! An advantage

I love EVERYTHING about the Penup app! I thought I wouldn't be able to transition from traditional art, calligraphy, etc, into digital art. But, I must admit the transition was way easier than expected. The only thing I would recommend is that there is also a "coloring" hall of fame recognized each month along with the normal hall of fame winners. Also, a coloring page could be chosen by Penup, posted in notices to advertise the competition....then the winning entries posted for all to see.
