The TrainTime app provides a one-stop shop for Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad customers, where riders can buy and use tickets, plan their trips, track their trains, and more.
• Buy tickets with Google Pay or credit/debit card. Split payment between two cards.
• Plan trips with departure times and transfer details before you travel. You can also search for two origin and/or two destination stations at once.
• Save your frequent trains for easy access
• Share trips with family and friends so they know when to expect you
• Follow your trip with real-time GPS tracking, updated every few seconds
• See the layout of your train and how crowded each car is
• Chat with a customer service representative for either LIRR or Metro-North within the app

Feature RequestsWaitingThis is generally a good app, being that I don't need to stop at a machine for a physical ticket. However, I am annoyed that when trying to buy an off peak ticket for an off peak ride, it forces me to purchase a peak ticket. It's easily happened on my last 10-15 purchases. Not cool. I'm being taken advantage of because it's assumed that I don't have the time to make a complaint to have this rectified. Do better.

Hate itI had no issues with this app until and use it frequently until 4/2025. I changed my phone to a Google Pixel Pro 9 and the display for the app was reduced and cut in half, it's so annoying and no one seems to be able to fix it. If there was another app option I would stop using this app in a heart beat!

BugsFeature RequestsHate itInaccurateSpendingI made an error on a purchase. I tried to refund and it charged me $10.00 there needs to be an option to refund without penalty if you cancel within 24 hrs. This is very wrong. Suggest you offer this option and make a change ASAP When you purchase a paper ticket you at least have a time to use this in the future. This purchase via phone has some issues to be looked at
