BugsFeature RequestsHate itLove itI've used FarOut for years and it works well... EXCEPT when it screws up and you have to uninstall and reinstall it, which just happened. Then, you need to re-download all your purchased trails (and each section of longer trails like the AT) and each component of the downloads again, which is super-inconvenient and time consuming. After all these years, you would think the FarOut app would be able to remember your downloads when you reinstall it.

Hate itmostly it's great. but it's very annoying that it will use blue blaze routes when you're setting a route and there's no way to get it to stop (that I can find, other than going in and manually adding stops in the trail section you want) I'm not trying to hike blue blazes here, I'm trying to thru hike a specific trail and I don't always catch that it's routed me off the main trail. I assume it does this because it picks the shortest route but there should be a way to stop that.

Battery UsageBugsNetworkSpendingThis app is trash for wanting to charge PER map. Buying the map in sections, they don't connect making planning a trip not possible to plan ahead. The AT map for example does NOT have all the places on their maps. Water supply, views, and camping spots that you come across are not on the map at all, and when you submit a marker they don't add it to the map where it should be. The fact that this app is selling maps that are incomplete is insane. 2025 A.T. Guide PDF is $25 and has EVERYTHING.
