Version 1.8.24
BugsHate itLevelLove itI’m giving it five stars because it’s a great music discovery app. I’ve added over 75 songs to my library in less than a week thanks to the social feature. If the app had better UI I probably would have found a lot more new music by now but the entire app is a bit poorly designed if I’m being honest. There are many features but they all exist in their own silos. For example they have leaderboards with your friends, but only on an artist’s page. They tell you what your friends are listening to right now but only on their pages so if you want a quick view for discovery you can’t. You have to manually click on each of their pages individually. On top of all of the features feeling like spaghetti thrown at a wall with no considerations for how they work together, the app is BUGGY. Things are always broken or not working properly on the first click which is annoying. Again giving it 5 stars bc I’ll take any tool, no matter how inefficient, for music discovery but I do hope they hire a UI/UX designer at some stage. If this app decided to go all in to enabling music discovery I wouldn’t even mind paying monthly personally

BugsFeature RequestsInaccurateLove itUpdatesI’ve been using this app for the last 2 1/2 years and while it is great. There’s some things that need to be fixed. For one it will make multiple different albums for the same album for example, eternal sunshine by Ariana Grande there could be five versions of that same album through the app. So when you stream a song from the album, it’ll start counting and all the different albums instead of all the streams being put into one album. Which makes your streams off because it will say that you’ve streamed the album less times than you actually have because it’s splitting the numbers incorrectly. It does this with songs as well. Another big problem I’ve noticed is its genre categories aren’t always accurate and to be a bit basic with the number of genres they have. But that’s not to mention the fact that it’s now using Japanese words and categorizing artist into the Japanese name category, which is not accurate. It could be a pop artist from America and they’d be put into that genre. I’ve also noticed it likes to flip artist around from genre genre for example example one day you’ll see Charli XCX under pop and then the next day she’s under electronic they’re always shifting artist between genres instead of keeping them the same or adding on genres to the list. One feature, I think that could be added that would be fun or helpful would be to add genres to albums and songs instead of only having them for artists.

DifficultWaitingI really enjoy this little app. Admittedly, I often forget I even have it, but when I DO remember, I get so excited to see how all my stats have changed. This latest soulmate feature is so much fun and I can’t wait to nag all of my friends into getting it just so they can link up with other users whose tastes are similar. My only complaint is actually the primary reason I got the app: tracking song streams. Being able to see individual song streams AT ALL is a huge plus, but I would literally give my whole left kidney to be able to see song streams in playlist view, without having to click on each individual entry. I wouldn’t even particularly mind if the playlist limit had to stay under ~150 songs. I can always split up my playlists and rejoin them after, but as someone who is constantly consuming new music, I desperately want a quick way to determine which new songs I’ve hardly listened to—if at all—and which ones I’ve heard a dozen times but evidently haven’t left an impression. It would make sorting everything out lightyears easier 😩🙏🙏
