So far this app is amazing. The lessons are fun, cohesive, and encouraging. Even with the free version there are tons of different ways to learn, including review sessions, immersive "chats", narrated grammar tips, speaking exercises, and more. I am hoping we get to learn more about tones because I do find myself struggling with those, but I am still early into the lessons!

This is a fantastic app super comprehensive. Let's you slow down the pronunciation when hearing the spoken language which helps a lot with. Am I making the pronunciation correctly? And the lessons are extremely structured well done. That teaches you not just phrases but grammar and the meaning of each along with pictures. To show you the meaning of the words as well.

6/7/25 I've been using the free version 1 for less than a week, and I love it! It gives more detail and practice than what I've seen in Duolingo so far. HelloChinese gives you details on how the characters are formed and opportunity to practice writing them which makes recognition easier. It also gives a nice variety of listening and speaking exercises, even showing what areas of your pronunciation need work. Thanks for the great app! When I get one of the paid versions, I'll update the review.
