I tried Duolingo which is insanely expensive and doesn't really give you much insight into the grammar, pronunciation, or characters of Chinese which is important to truly understanding the language and your Chinese being useful in China. So far, this program has given everything I would expect from a Chinese learning language app. If you want to learn a language seriously, study something that is specific to the language. This app is specifically designed for understanding Chinese!

Wow wow wow, this Chinese learning app is truly amazing. They break down everything from grammer, verbiage, pronunciation, tone, context, everything really, even down to incorrect phrases commonly used by non-natives and outdated phrases and sayings as well. I really love this app for beginners. They make it an easy concept to grasp.

Was great until I realized how much of what was in the app actually wasn't available to me. Most of it is shut behind the Premium+ paywall, and there's no way to sort the paywalled items out of the way to see what's actually available. I'm pretty disappointed with the limited items even though I purchased the Premium. Always advertising new stories I can't access. Oh, and XP is worthless. Subtracted a star. I asked how often to use the Difficult Words test to up my score. Never heard back.
