If you are craving a long distance 4,200-mile cross-country bicycle route like the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail or a shorter 256-mile mostly gravel adventure along a portion of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, this is the app for you. Travel confidently with at-your-fingertips cycling-specific info like elevation profiles, distance, riding conditions, location of bike shops, sources for food, and listings of overnight accommodations including camping facilities, small hotels, and cyclists-only lodging.

REAL-TIME WIND AND WEATHER

The app includes wind and weather data along the routes and severe weather warnings that include thunderstorm, flood, and fire information.

GPS NAVIGATION

PROVIDE FEEDBACK

Is a restaurant closed or has the location of a motel changed? Has an existing service ramped up their amenities to be especially accommodating to bike travelers? Submit this feedback directly in the app so that it can be entered into ACA’s database system ASAP and other cyclists can start reaping the benefits!

TAP TO CALL

NO CELL COVERAGE? NO PROBLEM

    BugsHate it

This app is not good for planning a ride. The map has no scale displayed so there is no way to visually judge distances. The interface to find the distance between 2 spots on route is clunky, and for loop routes only works in one direction (e.g. 2 spots 40 miles apart in the non-preferred direction on a 300 mile loop are listed as 260 miles apart). There should be a way to specify direction of travel. No information on how a route is typically broken up over different days is provided. I can't even find the total route length in the app for a purchased route (have to go back to the route catalog to find that). I plan to do the Texas Hill Country Loop and gave up using this app to plan the ride (too frustrating, especially on a phone screen). I tried loading the app on my Chromebook to have a larger screen, but could not get it to work. I ended up ordering the paper map. I'm hoping the app will be useful for following the route, but for ride planning it blows chunks.

I'm planning on biking a part of the Southern Tier route and can't seem to get this app to work on my phone. When I press the position button in the upper right hand corner it does not take me to my current position. Also how do you use this for navigating while riding? Do you keep the blue dot on the bike route? Why not introduce turn by turn navigation as well as allow for trip planning by breaking the route down for distances you want to travel each day? I'm planning on riding from Deridder, LA to Baton Rouge, LA and can't seem to figure out how far that is if I follow this route. How do I use this app to plan how many days it will take me based on distance and elevation data? The only thing I can figure out is to manually enter the route into Google Maps then to share that to my phone. Why can't that be automated from the app?

    DifficultWaiting

Very little information included in the route. Very difficult to see where to turn or what to follow. No commentary. I could just make my own from Google maps that would be clearer. Up date. I down loaded it to my phone. Used restore my routes and there they are. Much more detailed using the Google Maps layer. It will show me where I am and where each turn is. Now I can see the road names and everything that Google maps shows. Happy
