I have been a loyal fan of Last Day of Work (LDW) since VV1 and Fish Tycoon. To say I was excited when I saw VV6 available is an understatement. I regularly replay VV1-5, I have purchased all of their full games in that series as well as their other games such as Fish Tycoon and the Virtual Families series. This is the only company I was willing to and enjoyed supporting. Until VV6. Being forced to watch ads that disrupt my gameplay, such as to complete puzzles which is a major aspect of the Virtual Villagers series, is enough to make me uninstall the game and reconsider my opinion of LDW. Coming here and seeing a developer I used to highly revere reply to reviews such as mine, stating that these same ads are non disruptive to the gameplay experience, is disappointing to say the least. I don’t want to complete puzzles or stations now because I will be forced to watch these advertisements. But puzzles and stations are most of the game. Usually I’m happy to pay to remove ads from my game. However, I don’t play games that appear greedy and take over my experience with ads to force my hand. I thought LDW had higher standards than they have shown with this latest edition.

I think the game could be great if it wasn’t difficult to play, there’s no real guide for anything and the “puzzles” are hard to figure out on your own so adding tips when the player is clearly stuck would be helpful, but my main issue is keeping the villagers alive, the villagers never really want to go to the love shack and even if they do there is no baby so I’m stuck with the same number of villagers until they die out, and recently I’ve been stuck in this cycle where no matter what, all my villagers die and I have to restart EVERY time I open the game so I can’t make any real progress in the game, another thing is the use of the divine powers, it’s very confusing in my opinion because when I’d drag a villager to a certain spot it’ll say a powerful force is needed to clear the curse but it’s not specific and I tried every power that was unlocked and nothing worked so I just gave up, overall I just wish there was more help, guides, or tips or something in order to make some real progress so it can be more enjoyable.

If I could give this game a MINUS 1 million review I would. I don’t mind spending $ on a game that’s fair with its customers. However this game developer is showing its utter greed. In Beta version 1.0.7-8 you could craft something that took 1-1/2 hours and it was only 4 lava to complete early. So I thought that’s pretty fair and will make some lava purchases to support game developer. After last update 1.1.2, crafting an item that takes 40 minutes, they now want 48 lava stone to finish early. That’s RIDICULOUS!!!! LDW you lost my $ and my respect. Someone is starting a petition to boycott your games and I’m not surprised. People aren’t going to support you and we’ll see to it that it hurts your $ as you’re trying to hurt ours, the consumer. Too bad you decided to be greedy instead of fair to people who originally wanted to support you.
