6/9/25 edit: updated my review to 5 stars as the new update got rid of most of the slow transitions/loading screens. the app's new look is great and a lot cleaner! great app. transitions and animations are way too long and unskippable and you end up spending twice the time in app just to wait for animations to roll. without premium you can't really compare your score to anything, it's just a raw value. all in all the app is useful and the benefits of its use are backed up by research data.

I like the challenges Lumosity uses for memory, logic, math, etc - for "brain training". I use the free version. If I could play more often, I'd probably subscribe. I feel these are good mental exercises; especially as I get older. If you play daily, on the free version, you don't know what challenges to expect for the day. It's definitely not boring. It's pretty much ad free. Not like the average online games. You don't have to pay to play... I like it.

Good, stimulating puzzles, some harder than others depending on your skills (I suck at math, for instance). I'm shocked to find no ads. Only one issue AFAIK: the phone's navigation buttons at the bottom should be hidden in the car race game. I keep pressing them accidentally and exiting the game on critical moments.
