A great game overall. Archero 2 improves on the first game. Many of the reasons that I quit the first game have been fixed or improved. You still end up watching ads every now and then, but far fewer than in Archero 1 or other similar games. There’s a lot of variety of content and plenty to do without having to buy energy. The game is fun, looks good, and provides many paths to progress. My one major complaint is the pricing and need to pay to 100% complete events. I would not call this a “pay to win” game necessarily, but it’s bordering one. I admit I have not spent any money on Archero 2 myself, but mainly because the prices simply aren’t worth it. You get far less value from paid purchases than in similar games in my opinion. While all gear is possible to get without paying, you collect it MUCH slower. I do not feel like I’m missing out by not buying things in the game, but definitely cannot keep up with those who do. You cannot 100% complete timed events without buying extra event currency. There are multiple separate season passes you can buy for $15+ and they only last 30 days. The $30 daily gem pack only gives you enough for 2 extra chests a day. The only purchase that seems worth the value is the $10 lifetime ad-free pack. But again, I still have made a pretty powerful character without paying any money. Overall great other than the cash grabbing.

After almost 4 months of playing, I can definitely say this is one of my favorite mobile games of all time. I haven’t been into mobile gaming as much for many years, mainly playing console/pc. But after playing this for almost 4 months, it’s slowly became my favorite pass time. There are in-app purchases to gain a truthfully unfair advantage. There are people who spend thousands of $$$ for this game and I understand why, I just choose to be a F2P player. Much of the game can be seen as P2W and that’s where most people probably get turned off from the game itself. But what I would personally like to see in the future is an infinite gameplay feature, just a casual core gameplay experience. I honestly do believe that would encourage more players to be hooked on the gameplay rather than strategically planning their character build and saving resources. It would also allow current players to test their builds and see how long they can survive. If anyone on the dev team reads this, please do take this into consideration.
