The Reading Eggs Learn to Read app features hundreds of fun math & literacy lessons, activities, games, puzzles, and over 3000 e-books for homeschooling Eggsplorers to enjoy!
The app instructs homeschoolers on the five essential components of reading – phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
The Reading Eggs homeschool curriculum guide covers grades K-5. It also includes Science which is closely linked to the standards set out by the National Science Teaching Association, and Social Studies.

Volume control is bad. My experience is mostly with the Reading Eggs lessons. The audio at the end of each lesson that says "Well done!" or "Congratulations" is really loud, but the audio for the actual lesson is very low. And for some lessons, we can't listen to the question again! It's really frustrating for small kids. Otherwise, the lessons themselves are well planned and designed. If audio issues were fixed, it would be so much better.

My two year old enjoyed playing the games on the app. For the games where he had to pick the correct letter or number he would purposely choose the wrong one because he thought the sound it made was funny, so that was a little frustrating. The app would also regularly glitch. It would freeze in the middle of the game, play the sound for the next activity, but only show the background, and was generally glitchy. The app was installed on a "compatible device" so it was rather annoying.

Reading Eggs has been a breath of fresh air. After using competitor's apps I can say that this program is well organized and effective. It fosters learning rather than just game playing and the placement test is spot on. Both my 2 year old and 4 year old use it and it is fun, engaging and most importantly helpful for their individual needs and development. I love being able to track their progress and also be involved when they play or feeling confident in letting them navigate the game alone.
